UHS

University Health System is Bexar County and South Texas' first and only health system to earn Magnet status. Only about six percent of U.S. hospitals have earned this prestigious designation from the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) in Washington D.C. University Hospital, currently operating 498 beds, is one of just 15 Level I trauma centers in Texas, and the lead trauma center for all of South Texas. It is the only hospital in San Antonio able to provide expert trauma care for critically injured and burned children. The Emergency Center at University Hospital is the busiest in the region and averages nearly 70,000 visits each year. The University Transplant Center is a 2008 and 2009 Medal of Honor recipient from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services and achieves patient outcomes exceeding national averages for kidney, liver and lung transplantation.



Seton

The Seton Family of Hospitals is the leading provider of healthcare services in Central Texas with 23 clinical locations throughout the region. The Seton Family of Hospitals includes the only Heart Transplant Center in Central Texas; the busiest Level II Trauma Center in the state; and the first two Designated Stroke Centers in Texas to receive a Gold Seal of Approval by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations. The Seton Family of Hospitals has been awarded four Magnet Designations, the highest award for nursing excellence given by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC). The ANCC is an independent subsidiary of the American Nurses Association, the nation's largest organization of nursing professionals. In FY 2007, Seton, a member of Ascension Health, the largest not-for-profit health network in the nation, provided more than $282 million in charity and community benefit to Central Texans. Komen

Komen San Antonio Affiliate Established in 1997, Komen San Antonio has invested more than $14 million in our community. Seventy-five percent supports local nonprofit programs providing vital breast cancer screening, treatment and education right here in San Antonio. The remaining 25 percent goes to the Susan G. Komen for the Cure Grants Program for groundbreaking breast cancer research and scientific programs around the world. Historically, more than 100 percent of funds the San Antonio Affiliate sends to HQ come back to our community in research grants.

Metropolitan Methodist Hospital

Located near downtown San Antonio, Metropolitan Methodist Hospital, a campus of Methodist Hospital, is a 326-bed hospital providing a complete range of health care services in San Antonio and to the many neighborhoods and businesses that border its centralized location. Easy freeway access makes Metropolitan Methodist Hospital convenient for patients, visitors and physicians to access from all parts of the city. Metropolitan Methodist Hospital offers outstanding cardiac care, general and surgical care, neurosurgery, inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation services, sleep disorder evaluation and the largest emergency department in downtown San Antonio. Metropolitan Methodist Hospital is accredited by the Joint Commission in stroke care and is designated as an accredited Chest Pain Center.

Methodist

Methodist Healthcare Ministries (MHM) is a private, faith-based, nonprofit organization dedicated to providing medical and health-related human services to low-income families and the uninsured in South Texas.

The mission of the organization is "Serving Humanity to Honor God," by improving the physical, mental and spiritual health of those least served in the Southwest Texas Conference area of The United Methodist Church. The vision of St. David's Foundation is to keep the promise of a better life by improving health and health care for all Central Texans. Each year the Foundation directly gives millions to the community through grants to numerous agencies, local safety net clinics and the highly acclaimed St. David's Dental Program. The Foundation sets goals for better care for the underserved and uninsured, then seeks proposals from grant partners who can make a significant impact on those being served. As a joint owner of St. David's HealthCare, the Foundation achieves its goals by investing the proceeds from the hospitals back into the Central Texas community. From its beginning in 1924, St. David's Healthcare has now grown to include six hospitals, four surgery centers and four urgent care clinics reaching from Georgetown to Kyle.
